The eBook marketplace is not only growing for new books, but it has presented an incredible boon to authors with deep and even not-so-deep backlists of out-of-print books.
Advances in technology have lowered the cost of entry to publishing and many authors (and their agents!) have discovered they can "independently publish" out-of-print titles. Unfortunately, these independently published titles often look self-published, rather than professional. The effort and costs associated with bringing an out-of-print book back to the marketplace can be considerable, including cover art, cover design, interior design, scanning, conversion, proofreading, as well as set-up and distribution fees. And those are just the obvious out-of-pocket costs.

Paying an industry-competitive royalty, we want authors who are creative, educated in publishing standards (you do own and use the Chicago Manual of Style, right?), and have clean manuscripts ready for our attention.
